The world of goods is diverse enough that each type of product requires a special approach to transportation issues. Today, almost every transport company is faced with liquid cargo, or, as they are also called, liquid cargo.
Liquid cargoes are usually transported in tank trucks. Tanker trucks are reliable and convenient, but the most important thing is that with the help of tank trucks, absolutely any liquid cargo can be transported over long distances. However, each type of liquid cargo has its own tanker truck. A separate tanker is required for each cargo, even for the same type of cargo. It is strictly forbidden to transport petrol and crude oil in the same tank. The same applies to foodstuffs, which are also transported in tanks. Currently, there are several types of tanks used for the transport of bulk goods.
Tanks are different both in terms of material and in terms of their purpose. The tank trucks themselves are quite large, holding more than 30,000 litres, and weighing 6 tons. In addition, tank trucks come in various shapes and sizes. For example, the tanker truck can be cylindrical or rectangular. Some tanker trucks are equipped with additional equipment such as water pump or motor pump, discharge hose as well as electrical equipment. Depending on the type of goods to be transported in them, tanks can also be made of different materials.
Liquid foodstuffs, oil and oil products, various spirits and acids, and chemical materials are considered liquid cargo. Oil and oil products account for a major share of liquid cargo transportation.
There are several types of liquid cargo carriage:
Foodstuffs (e.g. vegetable oil, juices, milk – everything that is consumed in food or used for food production). The transport by tanker truck of foodstuffs must comply with the strictest hygiene requirements. Each tanker truck must be decontaminated before transportation, and nothing extraneous must enter the tank when filling in liquids. It is also worth bearing in mind that products need a special temperature regime – special isothermal tanks are also available for this purpose.
Chemical substances (acids, alcohols, any chemical liquids, having a very aggressive nature). For the transport of such liquids, highly leakproof tanks are required which are reliably protected against the ingress of any substances from the outside.
Petroleum products and clean oil (including petrol, diesel fuel, motor oil). Petroleum products must be transported without ingress of water and any impurities, cooling and overheating are also contraindicated. It must be remembered that oil products are hazardous cargo, so safety precautions must be observed.
Liquefied gases (propane, butane, methane, ammonia, etc.). Liquids must be transported under pressure and in a cooled condition, and the tank must be completely sealed.
The transport of liquid cargo is a big responsibility, as you need to transport a product that has certain transport, storage and certification conditions.
Transportation of liquid cargo in tanks is a controlled process, and the customer can literally monitor his cargo and be aware of its location at any time.
